The Truck Driving course at TCAT-Shelbyville is designed to train potential CDL Class A drivers on how to operate a commercial motor vehicle. During class some of the training students receive includes how to do a thorough pre-trip inspection, how to back a 53’ trailer through a series of courses designed by the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.), how to safely and properly drive a tractor-trailer on various road courses, such as city and rural streets. The students also learn about federal safety regulations set out by the D.O.T and much more. The class is 7 and ½ weeks or 37 days.
