On Friday, June 3, Duck River Electric Company came to TCAT-Shelbyville to give a presentation on electrical safety and to demonstrate some of the potential hazards that could be encountered when dealing with power lines at work or at home. The demostration was set up on the main campus outside of the Industrial Maintenance classroom from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. The presentation included a talk about the hazards of digging without a permit, using generators during power outages, trees coming in contact with power lines and home safety around power lines. There were approximately 150 students in attendance.
