U.S. Constitution and Citizenship Day on September 17 commemorates the formation and signing of the Constitution of the United States on September 17, 1787 and is dedicated to all US citizens.
Each year the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Shelbyville observes U.S. Constitution and Citizenship day by encouraging students to participate in viewing a PowerPoint presentation about the process involved in forming the United States and the ratification process of the U.S. Constitution. After viewing the PowerPoint, students can take a quiz. Any students who score 92% or more on the quiz are eligible for a drawing for a textbook credit of $200 that can be applied to the cost of their next term books.
This year 431 students participated in taking the quiz with 137 scoring 92% or higher. The winner of the drawing is Machine Tool Technology student, Robert Lythgoe (pictured with Director, Ivan Jones).
