Tyler Martin, an Industrial Maintenance student at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) in Shelbyville, TN was named local winner of the TCAT Outstanding Student of the Year (OSY) program at a recognition luncheon held at Legend’s Restaurant on November 8th.  The announcement was made by Kate Jacobs, OSY coordinator.

Tyler Martin is the husband of Lindsey Bowen Martin and the son of Pat and Michelle Martin, all of Winchester, TN.

The Tennessee Board of Regents, Office of Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology, sponsors the Outstanding Student of the Year program statewide. The interview committee at the local level included Garry Bailey (HVAC instructor), Anne Blanton (Admissions Records Team Leader), Shannon Long, (Industrial Electricity instructor), Laura Monks (Assistant Director, TCAT), Eric Brown (Collision Repair instructor), Ivan Jones (TCAT Director), and Kate Jacobs (OSY Coordinator).

In addition to Mr. Martin, four other students were recognized for their outstanding achievement, character and leadership.  They are: John Edwards of Winchester (Industrial Maintenance Program), Aaron Houghton of Lewisburg (Industrial Maintenance Program), Chris Parker of Taft (Industrial Maintenance Program), and Micah Keele of Fayetteville (Collision Repair Program).
