A reception for the first annual J.C. Gordon Memorial Scholarship provided by First Community Mortgage (FCM) for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Shelbyville was held at TCAT-Shelbyville on September 12th.  The CEO of First Community Mortgage, Keith Canter, Mr. Gordon’s family and community members were in attendance for the reception.  According to Mr. Canter, the scholarship is for $7500 annually.  The annual scholarship was created by a unanimous vote of the FCM Cares board of directors in honor of J.C. Gordon, who was one of the founders of First Community Bank and was an original board member of First Community Mortgage.

The current recipients of the scholarship are:

  • Manuel Moreno - Machine Tool Technology
  • Andrew Sells - Machine Tool Technology
  • Reid Sisk - Machine Tool Technology
  • Jacob Warren - Machine Tool Technology
