The Tennessee College of Applied Technology is pleased to offer Supplemental, Practical Nursing program pre-requisite courses in the evening hours at the Shelbyville Main Campus and Franklin County Campus locations.
The Math For Meds (40 Clock Hours) course provides a review of basic mathematical principles. The course then progresses through drug dosage calculations, ratio and proportion, and medication safety. Common drug measures will be discussed, and medication labels reviewed. Successful completion of this course is a pre-requisite for entrance into the TCAT Shelbyville Practical Nursing program.
Fall 2025 Term: Shelbyville Main Campus Math for Meds course will meet on Tuesdays, starting on 09/02/2025 from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM.
Fall 2025 Term: Franklin County Campus Math for Meds course will meet on Mondays, starting on 09/08/2025 from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM.
This course does not qualify for federal or state financial aid.
Tuition Cost: $265.00 *Must be paid by 08/26/2025. **Failure to pay will result in administrative withdrawal of the enrollment applicaiton.

2. Pay In-Person: Fees may be paid in person at the Shelbyville Main Campus, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.; OR
3. Pay by Phone with a credit/debit card: 931-685-5013

The Anatomy and Physiology (80 Clock Hours) course covers the basics of human anatomy and physiology including anatomical terminology, basis biochemistry, cells, and issues. The course also covers the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. The student is provided an overview of common human diseases processes. Successful completion of this course is a pre-requisite for entrance into the TCAT Shelbyville Practical Nursing program.
Fall 2025 Term: Shelbyville Main Campus Anatomy and Physiology course will meet on Mondays and Thursdays, starting on 09/04/2025 from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM.
Fall 2025 Term: Franklin County Campus Anatomy and Physiology course will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting on 09/02/2025 from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM.

***The College reserves the right to adjust offerings and schedules based on enrollments. Class size is limited enrollment and is based on the date of completed application and related requirements. TCAT Shelbyville and the instructor reserve the right to change the teaching format from an on-ground to online class if a need arises due to health or weather concerns. Students will be notified by email as soon as possible.
